Leila plays a versatile role in the design, detailing, and oversight of projects with Gunkel Architecture. Her analytical skills and knowledge of building and construction helps her take initiative and work with her teammates to find the best possible solutions. To Leila, creating and designing is more than a profession – she lives and breathes architecture. She is particularly inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright and Persian architect Houshang Seyhoun. She admires Wright’s creativity in harmonizing the buildings with their surroundings and appears to grow easily from their site. Seyhoun’s Khayyam Tomb in Iran combines modern architectural design and material with traditional elements. Her creative side continues after her working hours – drawing, painting, calligraphy, and jewelry making are just some of the things you might find Leila doing on the weekends.
