Berkeley Senior Recap is the renovation of two affordable senior housing communities to update accessibility, finishes, and systems throughout. Originally built as HUD 202 and tax credits projects over 15 years ago, they are converting to HUD Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program developments, which helps improve and preserve public housing properties.
At least 25% of the units will be renovated to meet current accessibility standards. All units systems and finishes will be updated, including cabinetry, flooring, painting, and heating systems that are more efficient. Common area scope will focus on accessibility, energy efficiency, and finishes that are reaching the end of their useful life. Both buildings will have exterior repair and replacement work, and will be completely re-painted.
