Set within the mixed-use Vineyard project by Gunkel Architecture, the OHK Kitchen is the new production kitchen for Open Heart Kitchen, a local non-profit organization whose mission is to provide equitable access to nutritious food today, while building a food secure tomorrow. As a new construction tenant improvement, the space is state of the art and has been programmed to suit the needs of the non-profit’s mission and its volunteer-centric program.
The kitchen prepares, serves, and distributes free meals to the Tri-Valley community. In addition, OHK prepares and serves a meal per day Monday through Friday at Vineyard in the multi-purpose room adjacent to the commercial kitchen. This nutritious and free meal will be open to all community members, including residents on the site, households in the neighborhood, low-income community members in need of a meal, and anyone in need of a hot meal and a community-centric atmosphere.
